Pablo Escobar’s brother is now trying to sell refurbished iPhone 11 Pros
Roberto Escobar, Pablo’s brother had earlier tried to sell re-branded Samsung Galaxy Folds earlier that were ‘gold-plated’ like the iPhone 11 Pros he is trying to sell now for $499
You have to give it to Pablo Escobar's brother, Roberto Escobar, for trying. That man doesn't give up! After trying to sell re-branded and ‘gold-plated' Samsung Galaxy Folds, Roberto is now back with refurbished iPhone 11 Pros for $499. According to reports, the company is “also coming clean about its intentions to make Roberto Escobar the ‘overstock king-pin',”.
In an announcement on marketwatch.com (currently all you can see is an Error 404 message), Escobar said that it's selling a limited number of refurbished 256GB iPhone 11 Pros. These ‘formerly damaged' iPhones have been repaired and gold-plated, and you can get one for $499.
If this iPhone 11 Pro is anything like the Escobar Fold 2 (the gold-plated Samsung Galaxy Fold), then the gold-plating is going be a sticker foil that tech reviewer Marques Brownlee had ‘reviewed'.
Besides peeling off the gold foil, Brownlee had mentioned that the smartphone was nothing more than a repackaged Galaxy Fold and most people who had placed orders for it did not receive the product. The same is probably going to happen for the iPhone 11 Pro Escobar Inc is trying to sell now.
The company has, however, said that the phone is going to ship with all ‘original' Apple accessories like cable, charger and headphone and the Escobar logo engraved on the back, and come in “luxury wooden box”.
"This is my way of fighting Apple, I sell their phones at a lower price and mine are gold-plated with nice girls showing them off. Apple can never do that," Roberto Escobar has said in a statement.
Escobar Inc's YouTube page is all about women smashing smartphones to drive the point home. And of course, lingerie. According to reports, Escobar Inc has also filed a lawsuit against Apple seeking $2.6 billion.
“Our goal is to uphold Mr. Escobar's dreams of becoming the overstock king-pin and this is one step towards that direction," said Escobar Inc. CEO Olof Gustafsson. So, it's basically all about that.
True, this refurbished iPhone 11 Pro can be yours for $499, the original costs $999. But we have out doubts about you receiving the phone at all. So, perhaps, you should hold on to that $500 for now.
