Realme C21Y Android Go phone may have identical specifications as the recently launched C21. Here are the expected specifications and features of the upcoming phone.

Google’s Android Go Edition is getting embraced by more OEMs. In case you did not know, Android Go is the lighter version of the main OS and works with entry-level phones with 2GB of RAM or less. Already, companies such as HMD Global and Motorola offer Android Go-based phones. The next popular OEM that could join the Android Go bandwagon is Realme.

According to a Gizmochina report, Realme is working on a new C-series phone – C21Y – touted as the company’s first Android Go smartphone. The report adds the phone will first launch in Vietnam. It is also likely to be available in other markets.

The report further says that the C21Y will come with identical specs as the C21 but with a different processor and software. Realme’s Android Go phone is rumoured to come with a Unisoc T610 processor and will run on the latest Android 11 Go Edition.

Realme already offers C21 in India. Available for a starting price of 7,999, the handset comes in Cross Black and Cross Blue colour options. The handset has a 6.5-inch display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 89.5% screen-to-body ratio. The screen also comes with a dewdrop-like notch to house the front-facing camera.

Realme C21 has a 13-megapixel primary sensor at the back with f/2.2 aperture, along with a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and a third 2-megapixel monochrome lens with f/2.4 aperture. At the front, you get a 5-megapixel camera for selfie images inside a waterdrop style notch, along with an f/2.2 aperture.

A MediaTek Helio G35 octa-core processor powers the phone. The phone comes in two memory options – 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. It packs a 5,000mAh battery. Realme also offers software-driven battery optimisation features. For instance, a Super Power Savings Mode is said to let you use WhatsApp for up to 85 minutes at just 5% battery. The mode can give 1.36 hours of YouTube backup and 4.78 hours of Spotify streaming.
