Realme has launched the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G smartphone in India. The newly launched smartphone is a part of the company's Narzo 30 series and it is the successor to the Realme Narzo 20 Pro that was launched in India last year at a starting price of 14,999. The newly launched Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G, on the other hand, costs 16,999 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant and 19,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.

With a starting price of 17K, a gorgeous design, 5G connectivity and a triple rear camera setup, the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G targets the budget buyers, who want a premium experience. But the real question is, does the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G live to the hype?

Read our first thoughts to find out...

Premium appeal

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G looks radically different from its predecessor. While the Narzo 20 Pro came with a diamond finish, the Narzo 30 Pro 5G comes with a plastic back with AG coating and 3D curved design. Unlike the previous generation Narzo phones, the Narzo 30 Pro 5G comes with the frosted mirror finish with the Narzo branding on the bottom left corner of the phone at the back and the vertically stacked rear camera being placed directly on top of it. It has a fingerprint sensor that is embedded in the power button on the right, which makes it easy to access.

Overall, the phone is light and extremely comfortable to use. It looks gorgeous and has a premium appeal, which makes it a winner in the design department.

Good cameras

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G comes with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a macro sensor. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel selfie camera. While this camera setup looks good on paper, it is also good in practice. The phone's rear snaps sharp images in both indoor and outdoor lighting conditions. It maintains colour and clarity and there is no colour bleed even when you zoom in on the image.

The front camera of the phone is equally good. It snaps Insta-good images indoors and outdoors while maintaining clarity. You also get beauty filters to tweak your features as per your requirements.

Overall, the Narzo 30 Pro 5G has a good set of cameras but we will need to use it under a more diverse set of conditions to talk about it better.

It's fast!

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G chipset and it runs on Android 10-based Realme UI. As mentioned before, it comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a face recognition feature both of which are extremely efficient at unlocking the phone. Both of these features are fast and they unlock the Narzo 30 Pro 5G in a blink of an eye. This is definitely one of my favourite features of the phone.

As far as the overall experience is concerned, during my limited time with the phone, it worked smoothly without any hiccups at all. The UI of the phone is loaded with bloatware, which can get a bit annoying at times. Other than that, it has been a smooth sail so far. We'll do a deeper dive in the phone with an in-depth review, so stay tuned.
