Redmi 9 Power to launch in India on Dec 17

Redmi 9 Power is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 4G.

Xiaomi today announced the launch date for Redmi 9 Power in India. The announcement comes shortly after it teased the new smartphone's arrival. Redmi 9 Power is scheduled to launch in India on December 17.

The launch event for Redmi 9 Power is expected to be live streamed on Xiaomi's YouTube and social channels. It is scheduled to start at 12 noon on December 17. Xiaomi has so far confirmed a triple camera setup with a 48-megapixel rear camera on the Redmi 9 Power. The smartphone will also be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Other details of the phone are still kept under wraps.

Redmi 9 Power is rumoured to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 4G that was recently launched in China. The smartphone has been spotted on the Google Play Console with the same specs as the Redmi Note 9 4G. If it is indeed the Redmi Note 9 4G, then we can expect Redmi 9 Power to feature a 9.53-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 662 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Redmi 9 Power comes in four storage variants in total. The triple camera setup will feature a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a wide angle lens and a depth sensor. Redmi 9 Power will pack a 6,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

Redmi Note 9 4G starts at CNY 999 ( ₹11,300 approx) in China. Xiaomi will most likely price the Redmi 9 Power around the same in India. Redmi Note 9 4G launched alongside the Redmi Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G but there's no word on Xiaomi bringing the other two phones to India.
