Earlier this year Samsung was heavily criticized for its Exynos processor performance in Samsung Galaxy S20 smartphone series, as compared to the performance of its international Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset processor. Someone even filed a petition with regards to it. Although the South Korean tech firm reconfirmed that its Exynos chipsets are as capable as the Snapdragon counterparts, the story looks the same for the upcoming Galaxy S21 series.

There have already been reports suggesting the global version of Galaxy S21 to feature Snapdragon 875, a 5nm processor scheduled to launch next month. Select regions are said to come with the Exynos 2100. Sammobile website, a couple of months ago, spotted the Exynos version of Galaxy S21 going through GeekBench and delivering 1308 points for single-core tests and 3060 points for multi-core. Now, the Qualcomm Snapdragon version of S21 has been spotted on Geekbench.

As per the benchmark found by Sammobile, model number - SM-G996U has achieved 1120 points in single-core tests and 3319 points in multi-core, both of which are more than what the Exynos models achieved previously.

However, before you jump to a conclusion, do note that the Exynos benchmarks were two months old and that the chipset might be improved and could perform better by the time they hit the market. In addition, a recent report from Android Central suggests that Exynos 2100's performance will be "on-par or better than the Snapdragon 875" when it comes to raw power and efficiency. However, one would still have to wait until 2021 to know the full story.

This time, the S21 series is said to arrive before its usual Feb-end launch time frame. The series comprising of Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra are said to launch in January itself.
