WWDC 2020: iOS 14 is coming but how well you know the iOS 13

iOS 13 (Apple)

Apple will soon be unveiling its next, major version of iOS for iPhones, called the iOS 14 at its WWDC 2020 conference that is scheduled to take place on June 22. The new OS version will naturally include hosts of new features, security options and possible change in looks. However, while the iPhone maker introduces a new version and builds the hype among users, how many actually know iOS 13's capability and features that really makes our lives easier? There are several features that we think you should know before you get a brand new iOS version with even more abilities. Check this out.

Siri shortcuts

Siri Shortcuts is one of the most powerful features in your iOS 13-based iPhone. It lets you assign quick actions to Siri so you save your time a bit more. For instance, you can log in to the Shortcuts app and create automations so certain tasks can happen automatically without your intervention. For instance, it can send your location to others when you reach near your home, play specific songs when you reach home.

Find my app

Find my app is better than ever in iOS 13. Using this, one can not just find the misplaced iPhone but also connected MacBooks and can share your own location. Inside the app there are two sections for sharing your own location with the selected contact and tapping on the connected device that also has the Find my app setup, to ring it aloud, mark as lost or erase its data remotely.

Inbuilt photo/video editor

Apple iPhone's built-in photo and video editors are very powerful and have more features than what you get in the gallery apps that are given by Android OEMs or even Google with its Photos. The highlight here is that editing the saturation, brightness, contract and more for videos is also possible, something you don't usually see in gallery apps.

Feature-rich iMessage

Apple's iMessage is also the company's feature-rich mode of text-based communication. You can send animojis, memojis, animations with each texts and much more. Also, since the chat data backs up in iCloud, you can access it from anywhere including iPhones, MacBook or iPad. Apple's iMessage is encrypted as well.

Screen Time to control app limits

To make sure you are not spending more than usual time on your iDevices, iOS 13 includes something called Screen Time. This lets you set a timer for app usage so your browsing habits stay in control and you don't stress your eyes in front of devices.
