Xiaomi is working on 200W+ charging speed tech, may come by next year
The tipster says that the first smartphones with 200W+ fast charging tech support is about to come by 2021.
Xiaomi this year became the first brand to bring 120W fast charging tech in smartphones with Mi 10 Ultra. But it looks like the Chinese tech giant is not done yet. According to a new report by Android Central citing tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the firm might be working on even fast charging tech for handsets. We are talking about 200W+ charging speeds. And this could arrive as soon as next year.
The tipster says that the first smartphones with 200W+ fast charging tech support is about to come by 2021. Taking in to account that Mi 10 Ultra's 120W fast charging can fill a 4500mAh battery in 23 minutes, a 200W+ charging speed might just fill the same battery in under 15 minutes. What might be interesting to see is how Xiaomi plans to keep the battery from degrading as faster charge often results in degraded battery quality.

The same post adds that Xiaomi will not be releasing successor to Mi Mix 3 any time soon. But the firm will be focussing on foldable smartphones and under-the-screen selfie camera tech. A recent leak indicates that Xiaomi could be working on a foldable phone with 108-megapixel camera.
Talking about 108-megapixel camera, Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi may also bring a new handset with same camera tech. Interestingly enough, it might launch as soon as this month. Also mentioned is that this rumoured smartphone might be just one of three upcoming devices in the Redmi Note 9 series. These won't be a part of Redmi Note 10 series.
