Redmi K40 was teased to make its debut next month, and the launch date is now official. Redmi K40 will be launched in China on February 25. Redmi K40 Pro is also in the works but this smartphone will reportedly launch later this year.

The launch date for Redmi K40 was revealed on Weibo without giving away anything about the smartphone. The company has been teasing the smartphone though, and there have been leaks and rumours around it. Redmi K40 will feature a punch-hole display that is said to be the smallest ever on a smartphone yet. We might also see a FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

When it comes to the chipset, there are different takes for the Redmi K40. Some suggest MediaTek's Dimensity 1200, while others expect the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. Redmi K40 is also rumoured to be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor. The varying reports suggest different variants for the Redmi K40.

The company has also teased that the Redmi K40 will have a battery capacity more than 4,000mAh that is claimed to have 64% of juice left even after 10.5 hours of usage. On the software front, it could run MIUI 12.5 with Android 11 out-of-the-box. The smartphone will most likely come with 5G support as well.

Redmi K40 is also said to cost CNY 2,999 ( 34,000 approx) for the base model. There are reports Xiaomi will skip the charger bundle for the Redmi K40 as well but there's nothing official yet.
