Apple, earlier this month, released the fourth beta version of iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 to the developers. Now, nearly 10 days later, the company has released the ‘Release Candidate' version of the upcoming iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 to the developers.

The latest update gives us a glimpse of the features that will be available on the company's iPhones and iPads. It also fixes the ‘A new iOS update is now available' bug that beta testers witnessed on their devices with older beta versions of the iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2.

As far as the features are concerned, as per a report by Mac Rumours, the Release Candidate version of the company's mobile operating system brings a host of new emojis to the Apple devices. The list includes black cat, tamale, bell pepper, polar bear, dodo, wand, ninja and bubble tea among others.

In addition to that, the new update also brings a new music recognition tool to Control Centre, which as per the report, integrates the company's Shazam app in iOS. The tool called Music Recognition, essentially let's users discover the music that is being played around them even when they are wearing AirPods.

But that's not it. Apple's also bringing a feature called People Detection in Magnifier to iOS and iPadOS that will enable users who have a low vision to see what is in front of them, which includes people.

Additionally, the report states that Apple is bringing the HomePod 14.2 software to its smart speakers, which coupled with the iOS 14.2 update will introduce the intercom feature that will essentially turn the company's smart speakers and other device into intercoms that can be used across a house.
