Apple wants to inspire you to take a walk with Shawn Mendes and Dolly Parton
Apple adds celebrity-guided walking workouts to Fitness Plus. Here are all the details.
Apple had added walking workouts guided by celebrities to Apple Fitness Plus and new walks will be added every Monday through the end of April, according to reports. The new feature is called “Time to Walk” and it pairs music, inspirational monologues from famous athletes, musicians and actors with exercise tracking on the Apple Watch and Fitness Plus.
The initial repertoire of “Time to Walk” includes walks with Dolly Parton, Shawn Mendes, Draymond Green and Uzo Aduba.
Each “Time to Walk” episode features “personal, life shaping moments” from these celebrities' lives and careers along with memories, lessons and “moments of levity”.
The celebs will also introduce a playlist after their walk and talk to keep the motivation going after the session as well.
Also, Apple adds that each episode was recorded as the celebrity walked in a place that was personally meaningful to them.
“Time to Walk” episodes will be automatically downloaded to Fitness Plus subscribers' Apple Watches. Users will have access to the usual exercise metrics like time, pace, heart rate, distance etc and Apple says Time to Walk will display photos on your Apple Watch times to moments on each guest's story.
“Time to Walk” is called “Time to Push” for wheelchair users and uses watchOS' wheelchair workout tracking to provide fitness information.
So while you may not be excited about walks, Apple is hoping to inspire you with some meaningful celebrity anecdotes.
