Beta stint over, you can now sign up on Twitter with your Apple, Google account, here is how to do it

Twitter is now allowing users to login with third-party credentials like their Apple or Google account.

Twitter has now officially introduced third-party login for all its users. The feature was initially spotted online a few weeks ago and it allows users to log in to Twitter using their Apple or Google accounts. And if your emails are the same, you can also link your existing account to your Apple or Google ID. Also, you can create a separate account to log in with Apple or Google id if you want. This third-party login feature was spotted on one of the beta updates last month and is now official.

If you sign in on Twitter with your Google or Apple id, you will not have to type in your email address or your password. Also, the profile picture that you use on your Google account is going to be added to your Twitter profile by default. You can always go ahead and remove/change the default profile photo. This new login feature by Twitter makes it easier for new users to sign up. As Twitter explained, they “wanted to make it easier to sign in to your Twitter account using login info from your Google Account or Apple ID no need to remember extra passwords.”

Users can sign in with Google from their iOS, Android devices, as well as from the browser. However, signing in with an Apple id is only available for Apple devices. Twitter is also expected to bring in web support for the same feature soon.

For existing users, this feature will allow them to sync their Apple or Google accounts if their current email address matches the IDs of their Apple or Google account. “If you're logging back in, you can choose either ‘Continue with Google' or ‘Continue with Apple' to sign in using either your Google Account or Apple ID (whichever account has the same email address as your Twitter account),” Twitter support said.

How to sign up with Google on Twitter

— Open the Twitter app or website.

— Tap on the ‘Continue with Google' option on the login page.

— You will see a "choose an account" pop-up.

— Choose the Google account you would like to add. If you don't see the account you want to use, click on ‘Add account'.

— You can also customise your settings in the ‘Customise your experience' pop-up box.
