Flipkart has recently been drawn into a controversy once again! This time, the e-commerce platform has annoyed fans of the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput by putting up a controversial T-shirt on sale. Fans went angry when a Twitter user found the T-shirt depicting the actor in a negative light. Several users started using the #Boycott Twitter in the late hours of July 26.

The T-shirt used a photo of the late actor and carried a caption that read “Depression is like Drowing”. What angered fans was that the T-Shirt claimed the actor to be a victim of depression and no judgment has been passed on the actor's death yet by the law. Many claimed that this was done in bad taste and Flipkart needed to remove the product from the shelf. Flipkart is yet to comment on it and as of writing this, we are unable to find the product listing.

Twitter goes wild after Flipkart sells controversial T-Shirt

Fans did not like the way this T-Shirt was done and wanted Flipkart to take responsibility. One person wrote, “How even someone think of something like this?”. Another user, who was extremely offended by this, threatened to take Flipkart to the courts. “I will serve notice to @Flipkart tonight (for approving a material which is defaming a deceased) as a common & responsible citizen," he said.

Another person wrote, “#flipkart you can't do marketing of your product by dragging a dead person. Think about there family members..karma will catch you soon." @Flipkart why don't you use @deepikapadukone photo for depression msg. She herself admitted being depressed multiple times. @itsSSR never said he was depressed nor can defend himself now. So stop using his name for your business. #BoycottFlipkart"

“#BoycottFlipkart stop using Sushant's name and pic to promote Depression narratives. Sushant was not depressed. @Flipkart CBI still investigating the Case.. remove this product from selling list. Smear Campaign Against SSR,” wrote another angry fan.

E-commerce platforms often think of unique ways to draw attention to their products and at times, they end up crossing the line and annoying their customers.
