State-run telecom operator BSNL is reportedly working on a new mobile app which will allow users to send voice messages to a group of people. The app will be available in the next two months, reports Telecomtalk.info.

According to the website, this will be first of its kind functionality provided by a telecom operator in the country. The app is being developed by the mobile service centre for enterprise team in BSNL of Ernakulam, the website added.

The report also elaborates how the feature will work. Registered BSNL subscribers will need to record and upload their voice message through the app. The app will then give an option to select contacts from your device to send the voice message. The recipient will get the voice message in the form of a voice call. In case the recipient misses the voice message, they will get another call.

The website says BSNL subscribers will be able to send the voice message to multiple contacts in one go. There's also no limits on the number of contacts users can send the voice messages. The feature, however, will not be free as users will have to pay the normal rate of a call per person.

That said, the feature could come in handy for users who want to inform their friends and family in advance about their unavailability or switching off the phone for some time. Otherwise, users can also use apps like WhatsApp to exchange voice messages with their contacts.
