Elon Musk to reverse life bans on Twitter profiles! This is why
Elon Musk takes over Twitter and has decided to reverse life bans on the social media platform.
After “freeing the bird”, Elon Musk has big plans for Twitter post his takeover of the microblogging platform. After making an entry into the Twitter headquarters that he wanted to sink-in, he is reported to have sacked ex-CEO Parag Agarwal and the entire management team. Musk has since then, revealed ambitious plans for Twitter and its future. While considering a content moderation team, Musk has also spoken about the life bans of several Twitter personalities.
Reports have said that Musk intends to remove the permanent bans on users and the reason behind that is simple – he does not believe in lifelong prohibitions. Hence, those who have been banned on Twitter for lifetime will be allowed to return. This could affect political situations in the US, especially enabling the possibility of allowing the former US President Donald Trump to make a return on Twitter after his ban in 2021.
Elon Musk to undo life bans
Musk's takeover of Twitter is expected to bring in major changes to the social media platform, which has been always in controversy. Musk has long said that Twitter should stand for free speech and everyone should be allowed to express themselves freely. However, that doesn't mean anyone can say just anything, which is why he plans to create a content moderation team.
Musk also has plans for advertising on Twitter, and he addressed a note to advertisers, expressing that he doesn't want the platform to become a hellscape for anyone.
Since the takeover, it is said the CEO Parag Agarwal was sacked along with the rest of the management team. Until Musk finds a new CEO for Twitter, sources have said that the billionaire would assume the role of the interim CEO of the company.
Musk had to take care of the October 28 deadline, and hence he stamped his mark on Twitter offices. Musk's Twitter profile now says “Chief Twit”. He is also said to have arranged meeting between Tesla engineers and product team at Twitter. Twitter engineers are no longer allowed to make any kind of changes to the code of the website ahead of the deal closing, said people familiar to the matters.
