Excitel introduces a new bundle with access to select OTT apps

Excitel subscribers on 300Mbps/3months plan now get free access to Zee5, Voot, Eros, and Shemaroo.

Broadband service provider Excitel on Monday announced a new scheme with complimentary access to select Over-the-Top (OTT) applications. The bundled service is available starting this month.

Excitel subscribers will get access to Zee5, Voot, Eros, and Shemaroo at no additional cost. The bundle is available as a complimentary offering on the company's 300Mbps/3months plan, priced at 752. The offer is available in all Excitel servicing cities.

“About 49% of the youth in India spends two to three hours daily on OTT platforms. This surge in content consumption is pegging the Indian OTT base to triple this year. The bundle pack enables users to consume the top of the line OTT content with our 300Mbps package at no extra cost and zero buffering,” said Vivek Raina, CEO and Co-Founder, Excitel, in a release.

The service provider recently announced that it had registered a growth of 55% last year. Also, its userbase has expanded to 5,00,000 in the year 2020. Excitel currently operates in as many as 19 cities such as Jaipur, Delhi-NCR, Lucknow, and Prayagraj. The company also plans to expand its services in more than 50 more cities by the end of this year.

In December last year, Excitel had revamped its fibre plans in different cities with more data and faster speed benefits. The revised plans now start at 399 for 100Mbps and extend to 899 for 300Mbps per month. The company has categorised new tariff rates as 1-month, 3-month, 4-month, 6-month, 9-month, 12-month with validity ranging from 30 days to 365 days.
