Meta-owned messaging application WhatsApp rolled out another update to its application for one of its features. This update is in the voice note feature of WhatsApp which allows you to send the voice messages to friends or family by holding on the mic button and as soon as you leave it, your voice note is sent. But now with the new feature, you will be able to preview your voice note before sending it to your contacts. Plus, no more holding the mic button to record it.

The instant messaging app took to Twitter to share about the voice message preview feature. The update basically allows you to listen to your voice message and choose whether or not the audio is fine to send via the instant messaging app. If it isn't, you can delete the audio message and re-record it for sharing. The feature works with both individual and group chats. It's also available on all platforms, including Android and iOS, as well as the Web and desktop computers.

How to preview WhatsApp voice message: Step-by-step guide

As mentioned earlier, you will no longer need to hold the mic button to record the voice note.

- The voice message preview feature on your smartphone will allow you to go hands-free recording, just by touching the microphone button in your WhatsApp chats and slide it up to start the hands-free recording.

- Here, with the update, you will find an update interface where you will find a stop button and a trash can.

- When you need to stop the recording you can hit the stop button and then tap on the play button to listen to the recording before sharing it with the contacts. The update will also let you move to a particular part of the audio by sliding the bar.

- If you find the audio not appropriate to send to the user, then you can tap on the trash icon to delete and repeat the same process to record it again. Else, just continue to hit the send button to share the recorded voice note.

The update will not change the existing feature to just record your voice note and send it sans previewing it. You just don't need to slide up the microphone icon to continue with the simple feature of voice note.
