IFA 2018: Motorola launches its Android One smartphones
Motorola One Power will make its way to India in October. Motorola One will be available in global markets in the coming months.
Motorola launched two new Android One smartphones at the ongoing IFA 2018 tech conference. Motorola One and One Power smartphones come with stock Android Oreo OS and Google Lens-integrated cameras.
Motorola One carries a price tag of €299 (₹24,800 approximately) in Europe. The smartphone will be available in Europe, Latin America and the Asia Pacific region in a few months. Motorola One Power will be launched in India this October, and the price will be announced later.
Google Android One
Google's Android One programme offers a simple and clean Android OS experience. Smartphones under the Android One platform run pure Android with only select pre-installed Google apps and built-in malware protection. Android One phone will also receive regular security updates and are among the first in line to get the latest Android OS.
In essence, Google's Android One avoids common Android OS problems like excess bloatware, custom UIs and delayed updates. Motorola One Power will join the growing list of Android One smartphones in India like Xiaomi Mi A2, Nokia 6.1 Plus and Infinix Note 5.
Motorola One specifications
Motorola One features a HD+ 5.9-inch notch display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone runs Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage.
For photography, Motorola One sports 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel dual rear cameras, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone houses a 3,000mAh battery that promises 6 hours of power with 20 minutes of charge.
Motorola One Power specifications
Motorola One Power has a bigger 6.2-inch Full HD+ display. Under the hood of the smartphone runs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor. Motorola One Power also features a dual-camera setup but with a higher megapixel count. The setup includes a 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel camera at the rear, and an 8-megapixel front camera. Motorola's 4,850mAh battery will give six hours of juice on a 15-minute charge.
