OnePlus will be launching its flagship smartphone, OnePlus 6 at an event in London today. OnePlus 6 will arrive in India the following day with its sale starting on May 21. OnePlus will be live streaming the launch event which is scheduled to begin at 5.00 pm BST. Here's everything you need to know to follow the launch event of OnePlus 6.

There are various channels through which you can follow the OnePlus 6 launch event. The event will begin at 9.30 pm IST in India and it will be live streamed through OnePlus' officiall website and the company's official YouTube page. Alternatively you can also follow OnePlus' Facebook and Twitter pages for live updates.

OnePlus India launch, availability

OnePlus 6 launch event in India will take place in Mumbai at 3.00 pm. OnePlus will also launch the Marvel Avengers special edition of OnePlus 6 tomorrow. OnePlus 6 will be available for purchase in India exclusively via Amazon India on May 21 and May 22. The company had already begun pre-orders for the device with today being the last day.

OnePlus also has a series of launch offers like cashbacks of 1,000, 2,000, extended warranty, no cost EMIs, gift cards, and benefits. These offers will be available for customers who purchase OnePlus 6 during the first week of its sale.

At the same time OnePlus will also host pop-up events across eight Indian cities on May 21 and May 22. Here, one can experience the device and even purchase it.

OnePlus 6 features, specifications

Over the past few weeks OnePlus has teased and announced details on its upcoming smartphone. To begin with, OnePlus 6 will bring a design change for the company's lineup with an iPhone X-like notch display design. Another change in look will be a glass back on the OnePlus 6 which is also a first for the company. OnePlus says that the smartphone's glass back panel will feature five printed layers of nanotech coating.

OnePlus will also shift the antenna lines to the sides as opposed to the previous placement on the rear panel. The alert slider will also have a new position although that hasn't been revealed as yet. Speaking about the alert slider on OnePlus 6, it is expected to come with new shortcuts for the camera according to teasers.

Another Apple inspiration for OnePlus would be iPhone X-like gestures on OnePlus 6. These gestures suited for full display smartphones are tailored for functions like pulling up recent apps, killing an app, and more. Google also introduced similar gestures for its upcoming OS, Android P.

In terms of specifications, OnePlus 6 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor. It will come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone is expected to be offered in more variants of 6GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB storage. OnePlus 6 will most likely feature a dual-camera setup at the rear which could be a combination of 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel sensors. For selfies, there could be a 16-megapixel camera. More expected specifications include a 3,450mAh battery with Dash Charge, OxygenOS based Android 8.1 Oreo, 4G VoLTE support, dual-SIM support, and USB Type-C port. The company has confirmed that it is still retaining the 3.5mm audio jack.
