OnePlus 7 series: OnePlus skips IP rating water resistance again
OnePlus confirmed its new OnePlus 7 series will be water resistant but without IP rating again.
In a teaser video shared by OnePlus, the company says that the new OnePlus 7 series will not have IP rating because it's expensive. It has instead opted for something less expensive but good enough for water resistance. The upcoming OnePlus 7 is also seen being dipped inside a bucket full of water.
OnePlus has for long resisted IP rating on its smartphones. Most flagship smartphones come with IP68 water and dust resistance which ensures that the phones can be submerged up to 1.5m under water and for duration of 30 minutes. It also protects the smartphones from dust, dirt and sand.

While OnePlus has been revealing few features of the OnePlus 7 series through teasers, leaks haven't been quiet though. In fact, just this week the entire spec sheet of OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro was leaked.
OnePlus specifications
OnePlus 7 is expected to feature a 6.2-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop styled notch. The smartphone will pack 6GB of RAM, and house a 4,150mAh battery. It will also be equipped with 30W Warp Charge via a USB Type-C port.
For photography, OnePlus 7 will continue with dual rear cameras including a 48-megapixel sensor and a telephoto lens. Like the OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 7 will also feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.
OnePlus 7 Pro specifications
The premium OnePlus 7 Pro will flaunt a bigger 6.64-inch QHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate. It could also offer a curved display as opposed to OnePlus 7 which will have a flat display. OnePlus 7 Pro will offer up to 10GB of RAM, and sport a triple-camera setup. The combination will include a 48-megapixel sensor, telephoto lens and wide-angle lens.
OnePlus 7 Pro shares some features with OnePlus 7 including a 4,150mAh battery, and in-display fingerprint sensor.
