While WhatsApp did a U-turn on its privacy policy, Dell launched its Alienware laptops and Samsung rolled out its Galaxy Watch 4 Series and Galaxy Buds 2. Another thing that made this day momentous in the world of technology was that Apple announced it would allow app developers to communicate with their subscribers outside its app store for payments. It also said it would not take any cut for subscriptions that app developers gain from sources outside the App Store. So, in brief, here's what created a buzz in India today:

Dell launches new XPS, G-series, Alienware laptops in India

Dell has launched its 2021 lineup of consumer PCs in India. The list includes a total of six personal computer models, which include models from the company's Alienware series, XPS series and G-series. The Alienware x15 is available at a starting price of 2,40,990 while the Alienware x17 is available at a starting price of 290,990 in India. On the other hand, the Dell XPS 15 is available at a starting price of 2,23,990 in India while the Dell XPS 17 is available at a starting price of 2,64,490. Similarly, the Dell G15 starts at 82,990 in India.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Series and Galaxy Buds 2 launched in India

Samsung today announced that the Galaxy Watch 4 Series and Galaxy Buds 2 will begin via Samsung.com and across leading online and offline retail stores starting August 30. The company said that the Galaxy Buds 2 will be available in India for 11,999. On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch 4 will start in India at 23,999 while the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will start in India at 31,999.

Apple settlement lets app makers advertise outside payments

Apple settled a wide-ranging class action lawsuit with the US app makers announcing changes to the App Store such as giving developers more flexibility to advertise outside payment methods. The new advertising policy will make it easier for developers to promote alternative pricing plans and ways to pay without Apple taking a cut.

WhatsApp likely to make Terms of Service optional for its users

WhatsApp, as per a report by WABetaInfo, will make it optional for users to accept its new Terms of Service (privacy policy). As per the report, the Facebook-owned messaging app will ask users to accept its updated ToS only if they are interacting with a business.
