WhatsApp is looking to make the application more interesting and user friendly. As per the latest information, WhatsApp has informed about a new update for its Android users on the beta channel. WhatsApp message reaction notifications features for its Android app is in the works, according to a report by ANI. As the name suggests, the update will allow users to react to WhatsApp messages similar to the way they react to the posts and comments on Facebook.
According to the report, a source has revealed that the message reaction notifications feature is "planned to be released in a future update." Also, it is not yet clear when the feature will be rolled out to all the users. However, it can be noted that WhatsApp has been rolling out several updates for its Android users in recent times. Recently, the company has rolled out end-to-end chat backups for users of its Android-based app.
The end-to-end chat backup feature secures chat backups on Google Drive with an end-to-end encryption technique. WhatsApp has also rolled out Flash Calls and Message Level reporting features for its Android users.
With the help of Flash Calls feature, new Android users who are opting for WhatsApp or users who are re-installing WhatsApp on an Android phone will get an option to verify their phone numbers via an automated call, instead of relying on an SMS message with the verification codes. Hence as the users' will get a call from WhatsApp to verify their phone numbers, it will help to reduce the number of scams and will ensure safety.
While coming to Message Level Reporting, with the help of this feature users will be able to report accounts to WhatsApp by flagging a specific message. To do so, users will have to long-press a particular message to either report or block a user.
