OnePlus Buds to launch alongside OnePlus Nord tonight: All you need to know

OnePlus Buds is the company's first truly wireless earbuds which will cost less than $100. Here's everything we know so far about the OnePlus Buds.

OnePlus will launch its new smartphone later tonight. The launch event for OnePlus Nord will be a virtual one along with what's touted to be the world's first AR smartphone launch event. In addition to the OnePlus Nord, the company will also debut its first truly wireless earbuds called ‘OnePlus Buds'.

The OnePlus Nord launch event is scheduled to start at 7.30 pm IST. The livestream will take place via OnePlus' official website. While we know much about the OnePlus Nord already, there's been quite a bunch of information available on the OnePlus Buds as well.

Based on multiple leaks and reports, OnePlus Buds will come in three colour options of black, white and blue. The blue-coloured OnePlus Buds looks quite like the one Carl Pei wore during his interview with MKBHD. The charging case of the OnePlus Buds looks quite like the Pixel Buds 2's. The wireless earbuds also have an AirPods-like design. OnePlus said the wireless buds weigh 4.6 g, and the charging case weighs 36 g.

OnePlus Buds will come with support for Dolby Atmos, and a ‘Find My Device' feature to locate the buds, according to a report by 9to5Google. More features expected on the OnePlus Buds include fast pairing, and touch controls on the earbuds. The wireless earbuds will also detect when they're removed and automatically pause music or any other audio.

OnePlus also confirmed last week that the Buds will offer a battery life of up to seven hours. With the charging case, the OnePlus Buds will last for 30 hours. According to the company's CEO Pete Lau, OnePlus Buds will offer an “effortless, burdenless experience with a wide range of smartphones”. The TWS also has a gaming mode for ultra-low latency when using it with a OnePlus phone.

In terms of pricing, OnePlus teased that its wireless earbuds will cost less than $100 ( ₹7,500 approx). More details on the OnePlus Buds and its price will be announced later tonight.
