OnePlus Nord to launch today: How to watch the AR livestream

OnePlus is going to livestream the launch but there is also an AR experience you can get in on to experience it up close. Here's how you set it up.

OnePlus is launching the OnePlus Nord later today at 7:30 PM (IST) and the latest smartphone from OnePlus is expected to be priced lesser than both the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro that the company launched earlier this year.

Like all other smartphone launches happening currently, the OnePlus Nord will also be launched via a livestream, but in this case there is also an augmented reality (AR) experience you can tap into.

Here's how you do it -

The launch event can be watched via a livestream on a dedicated microsite OnePlus has created on its website. Here you also the link to download the OnePlus Nord AR app for both Android and iOS devices.

You need to download the app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. 

Here's a list of phones that are compatible with the OnePlus Nord AR app and will support the AR experience. Also, for the AR experience, you need these special launch invites that you can also create for yourself.

On the OnePlus Nord AR app you need to set up your avatar and then follow the on-screen instructions. To be able to get a consistent AR streaming experience you need to have very good internet connectivity.

How to start the AR experience -

Once you are done setting up your avatar etc, you need to scan the QR code on the invite to initiate the experience. The code can be scanned using your smartphone camera, or Google Lens or any other QR Code Scanner.

The on-screen instructions in the app are easy to follow and you need to be up and running by 7:30 PM today evening to watch the launch.

If your phone does not support AR, you can just watch the livestream.
