Here is yet another case of a gadget set to be launched being leaked. This time it has to do with Samsung Galaxy Buds 2. From the leak it is clear that the earbuds have a striking similarity to another one. In fact, the recently leaked renders of the Galaxy Buds 2 suggest that the next iteration of Samsung's earbuds will look pretty similar to Google's Pixel Buds.

This was revealed by The Verge, which was quoting from a May filing with the FCC that showed the earbuds would come in a white case with rounded edges. It also confirmed earlier reports that the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 will come in 4 colors green, purple, white and black.

The cases in the new renders show each one will have a white exterior, while the internal color will match the buds, ANI reported. However, the report was short on other important details, especially on the price front. Other insights into the gadget show that the Galaxy Buds 2 will have two microphones for improved noise reduction, and their in-ear design will include silicon tips, much like the Galaxy Buds Pro.

The FCC filing showed the Buds 2 with a charging case that holds a 500mAh battery, and each earbud will have a 60mAh battery. The Galaxy Buds 2 aren't expected to have active noise cancellation but will have active noise reduction.

While these are tantalising bits of information, there is certainly much more to the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2. That would clearly be revealed during the launch event unless, of course yet another leak divulges more information about the specs. As to, when and where will the launch happen? Reports have it that Samsung might unveil the Galaxy Buds 2 at Mobile World Congress 2021, Barcelona, which gets underway on June 28, but also holds out the possibility that the buds might be revealed in August, when Samsung may launch new Galaxy Z devices.

Mobile World Congress 2021, Barcelona is slated to start today and Samsung has slotted a special virtual event where it will be making a few announcements. Exactly what that may entail has so far, not been revealed.

The company has announced that its event will be called the Samsung Galaxy MWC Virtual Event and will be held at 7:15 PM CET. This means that readers will be able to tune in to the event in India and abroad at 10:45 PM IST, depending on their timezone. The event will be broadcast on the company's YouTube channel.
