GTA 6 is HAPPENING! Rockstar Games FINALLY confirms GTA 5 successor

GTA 6 has been confirmed by developer Rockstar Games. The development of the game is already underway, suggests the studio.

GTA 6 is HAPPENING! After years and years of teasers as well as speculations, Rockstar Games has finally spoken on the successor to Grand Theft Auto 5, or popularly known as GTA 5. The GTA 6 moniker isn't confirmed but Rockstar Games says that the game's development is underway and we could be expecting news on the game as soon as the developer is ready to share more details on it. No screenshot or logo has been revealed yet!

Although Rockstar Games hasn't revealed anything useful, the news of the game being actually in production is big! Grand Theft Auto 5, or GTA 5, has been around since 2013 along with its online multiplayer version, Grand Theft Auto Online – the latter being a tremendous money minting machine for Rockstar Games in all these years. With fans of the franchise waiting since years for news on GTA 6, this comes as a ray of hope.

As of now, there's no official news on the setting of the GTA 6, or anything regarding its in-game details. Previous rumours have told time and again of GTA 6 bringing back GTA Vice City's version of Miami to the world. Several leaked maps and other details have come up with wild theories, suggesting a woman protagonist for the first time in the series. Additionally, GTA 6 is expected to have a bigger map than GTA 5's San Andreas.

With the current state of GTA news, it seems Rockstar Games could be preparing the game for a 2023 release , given that GTA 5 will celebrate its tenth anniversary. Originally launched in 2013 for the previous gen PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles, GTA 5 and GTA Online have seen lots of updates over their course of time. The latest one prepares them for the current-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Rockstar Games' latest addition to the GTA franchise was the release the Remastered Edition of the GTA Trilogy. This included reworked versions of the classic titles such as GTA Sand Andreas, GTA Vice City, and GTA 3. Although there was a lot of hype surrounding the game, the game's launch was plagued with issues and Rockstar Games even had to take it down until it could fix them. The game also met with negative critical response from fans and critics alike, as there wasn't enough new stuff to enjoy.
