Amazon last month launched the second-generation Echo Show 8 smart display in India at a price of ₹13,999. Now almost a month later, Amazon India has refreshed its existing product lineup once again. And this time around, Amazon has launched two new Kindle e-readers in the country. One is the next-generation of the Kindle Paperwhite e-reader, consisting of the all-new Amazon Kindle Paperwhite and the Amazon Kindle PaperWhite Signature Edition.

The 10th generation Kindle Paperwhite costs ₹12,999 for the 8GB storage and Wi-Fi variant. The 32GB storage with WiFi+4G variant of the 10th generation Kindle Paperwhite, on the other hand, costs ₹17,999. Both these devices are available for pre-order starting today. Interested buyers who pre-order the 10th generation Kindle Paperwhite will get Kindle credits worth ₹500 that can be used towards eBook purchases. The 10th generation Kindle Paperwhite will start shipping starting October 27.
Similarly, the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition comes with 32GB of storage space. It will go on sale in India starting November 4.

As far as the features are concerned, the all-new Kindle Paperwhite comes with a 6.8-inch glare-free display with 10mm bezels, and e-ink Carta technology. Amazon says that the display of the 10th generation Kindle Paperwhite offers an additional 10% brightness at the maximum setting to ensure reading is more comfortable on the eyes. It also has adjustable warm light and a white-on-black dark mode that offers flexibility for reading any time, day or night. The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition also comes with a similar display size and an auto-adjusting front light functionality that automatically adjusts the brightness of the display based on the ambient lighting conditions.
Coming to the battery, the 10th generation Kindle Paperwhite and the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition offer up to 10 weeks of battery life. They come with a fast USB-C charging feature that charges the device in just 2.5 hours. Additionally, the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition comes with wireless charging functionality and it can be charged with any compatible Qi wireless charger. The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is the first Kindle e-reader to get wireless charging functionality.
Apart from this, the 10th generation Kindle Paperwhite comes with IPx8 certification, which makes it withstand accidental drops in the bathtub, hot tub, and pool.
Additionally, both the 10th generation Kindle Paperwhite and the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition come with features that are aimed at making reading a more comfortable experience. They have Whispersync and Whispersync for Voice that saves and synchronizes a user's last page read, bookmarks, and annotations from their Kindle eBooks across all of your Kindle devices and apps. They also come with a feature called Word Wise that provides short and simple definitions that automatically appear above difficult words so children or those learning a new language can keep reading with fewer interruptions. Additionally, they have accessibility-related features that allow customers to access devices and reading applications that work with assistive technology.
