HP updates its gaming portfolio with new PCs, laptops and more

The Omen 17 and Victus by HP laptops come at a starting price of $1,369.99 ( 99,720 approx.) and $799.99 ( 58,230 approx.) respectively.

HP on Friday updated its gaming portfolio by launching four new personal computers and laptops in the US. The company today launched Omen 16 and Omen 17 gaming laptops, Omen 25i gaming monitor, Victus laptop and Omen Gaming Hub and Omen Oasis.

The HP Omen 16 starts at $1049.99 ( 76,428 approx.) and it is expected to be available via HP.com and Best Buy in June this year. Omen 17 and Victus by HP, on the other hand, come at a starting price of $1,369.99 ( 99,720 approx.) and $799.99 ( 58,230 approx.) respectively and they will be available via HP.com and other retailers in June this year.

Similarly, Omen 25i Gaming Monitor is expected to be available this July via HP.com and other retailers at a starting price of $349.99 ( 25,475 approx.), while Omen Oasis is available in beta mode starting today. It will be available to the rest of the world soon.

Omen 16 specs

The Omen 16 laptop comes with a 16.1-inch QHD display with a 165 Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. It is powered by up to Intel Core i7-11800H series processors or 8-core AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX mobile processors with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop graphics. This is coupled with up to 32GB of DDR4 3200 MHz RAM with up to 1TB PCIe Gen 4x4 SSD or up to two 1TB PCIe SSDs supporting Raid 0. It is powered by Windows 10 Home up to 83Whr of battery capacity.

It features the HP Wide Vision 720p HD camera with integrated dual array digital microphones with Intel Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity. It has a Thunderbolt 4 port with a USB Type-C port, a USB Type-C port, a USB Type-A port, a headphone/microphone port, a mini display port and an HDMI 2.1 port.

The Omen 17 laptop comes with a 17.3-inch QHD display with a 165 Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. It is powered by up to Intel Core i7-11800H series processors with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop graphics. This is coupled with up to 32GB of DDR4 3200 MHz RAM with 512 GB Intel PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD3 or 32 GB Intel Optane memory. It runs on Windows 10 Home up to 83Whr of battery capacity. Additional features include HP Wide Vision 720p HD camera with integrated dual array digital microphones with Intel Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity.

Victus by HP

This laptop comes with a 16-inch QHD display with a screen refresh rate of 165Hz. It is powered by up to Intel Core i7-11800H series processors or 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800H mobile processors with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop graphics and AMD Radeon RX 5500M. This configuration is coupled with up to 32 GB DDR4 3200 MHz memory and a single SSD up to Gen4 1TB PCIe storage or Dual SSD supporting RAID 0 storage options. It has a five-way airflow and a four-heat pipe that is designed to keep the device cool. It features support for newly launched Omen Oasis Beta and it is available in mica silver, performance blue, and ceramic white colour options.

Omen 25i gaming monitor

Next in line is the company's newly launched gaming monitor. It features a full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, a 165Hz refresh rate, an aspect ratio of 16:09, and a 1ms response time with support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology. It offers 400 nits of brightness with true 8-bit colour. For connectivity, it has two USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports, a USB Type-B port, an earphone output, a DisplayPort 1.4, and an HDMI 2.0 port.

Omen Gaming Hub

It is a gaming service wherein users can play their favourite gaming titles, participate in daily challenges and even win real-world merchandise. HP says that the Omen Gaming Hub will feature exclusive access and content over the coming months leading up to launch later this year.

Omen Oasis

This is a downloadable and easy to use add-on service to Omen Gaming Hub. The company says that it is designed to optimise sharing gameplay, game nights, or watch parties with your friends. It features up to a 16-person invite-only party. The company says that gamers can communicate with either high-quality voice or simple text chat. They can also share their real-time gameplay in high definition and low latency format.
