Samsung announces Galaxy Tab Active 3: Check specs, availability here

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 will be available in select markets including Europe and Asia starting today. Samsung will make the device available to other markets globally in the coming days.

Samsung on Monday announced the Galaxy Tab Active 3 tablet. The newly launched Galaxy Tab Active 3 is the successor to the Galaxy Tab Active 2 that was launched back in 2017.

It will be available in select markets including Europe and Asia starting today. Samsung will make the device available to other markets globally in the coming days. Samsung hasn't revealed the price for the tablet yet.

Talking about the features, the newly launched Galaxy Tab Active 3 is MIL-STD-810H certified. Samsung says that its enhanced shock absorption is capable of withstanding drops of up to 1.5 meters with an inbox protective cover. It also comes with IP68 dustproof and water-resistant coating, which makes it ideal to be used in outdoor environments.

“The performance and productivity features are perfect for field-based employees and includes capabilities like Touch Sensitivity to help professionals, like first responders, who use gloves for working safely in the most challenging environments and conditions,” Samsung wrote in a press release.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 specs

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3 comes with an 8.0-inch WUXGA PLS TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels. It runs on Samsung's Exynos 9810 chipset that is coupled with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage space. It can be expanded further using a microSD card of up to 1TB space. It runs on Android 10.

Coming to the camera, the Galaxy Tab Active 3 comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It has USB 3.1 Gen 1, Pogo Pin, Wi-Fi 802.11, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS and Glonass for connectivity and Knox Suite, face recognition and fingerprint scanner for security. It also features S-Pen support. It is backed by a 5050mAh battery.
