When Xiaomi (or rather, POCO) rolled out the MIUI update to the POCO X2 in August last year, it brought with it several software improvements to the already capable device, which originally shipped with Android 10. However, nearly six months later, the company has begun rolling out the latest version of Android.

According to XDA, the update to Google's latest platform release is now rolling out to the midrange device, weighing in at 2.4 GB for the ZIP file that you can use to flash via the recovery. However, non-enthusiast users should probably just wait for the stable update to hit their devices, if they are not familiar with taking complete backups of their device before flashing an update.

In fact, the three-line changelog (see the embedded teet above) shared by POCO informing users about what the new update brings is so tiny, that you could actually have missed it if you didn't look closely. A screenshot shared by a Twitter user shows us the last line simply says: Stable MIUI based on Android 11. Users who upgrade will gain access to Android's latest features - one time permissions, chat bubbles and so on.

The MIUI version is still at 12, although an update to the beta version of 12.5 that adds several more features over the already customisation friendly MIUI 12, such s more Super and Live Wallpapers and new sounds. The update to MIUI 12.5 will also likely include MIUI+, which is Xiaomi's take on Microsoft's Your Phone app that acts as a wireless bridge between your phone and your desktop.
