Battery in Apple iPhone 12 series may be lesser than what there in iPhone 11 series
According to the listings found by My Smart Price website, the upcoming iPhone 12 series may feature less capacity batteries than the ones that came in the iPhone 11 models.
Apple has never unveiled the battery capacity of its iPhones. It has only been through teardowns after the launch that we come to know about it. Although the firm tries its best to maintain a certain level of secrecy behind it, every year we do find out that the battery capacity increase by a bit anyway. But this year something different can happen. According to the listings found by My Smart Price website, the upcoming iPhone 12 series may feature less capacity batteries than the ones that came in the iPhone 11 models.
The batteries are said to have been listed on Safety Korea, China's 3C, and the Danish agency UL Demko with the model numbers A2471, A2431, and A2466. Out of these three, the A2431 model is said to be for both 6.1-inch iPhones while the other two could be for the 5.4-inch and 6.7-inch models.

Apple iPhone 12 (5.4-inch) – A2471 – 2,227mAh
Apple iPhone 12 Max (6.1-inch) – A2431 – 2,775mAh
Apple iPhone 12 Pro (6.1-inch) – A2431 – 2,775mAh
Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7-inch) – A2466 – 3,687mAh
If you compared it with the iPhone 11 series, the 11 Pro comes with 3,046mAh battery, which as we can see, is more than the iPhone 12 Pro model. The iPhone 11 Pro Max is said to be backed by the 3,969mAh battery, which again is some 300mAh more than the iPhone 12 Pro Max battery mentioned above. It is worth adding that the aforementioned battery capacities of the iPhone 12 series are more than the iPhone XS series that came out in 2018.
For some this may be disappointing to see as the rumours of a lesser battery capacity stay despite reports that the firm is working on a smaller battery protection module – which ideally should give more room to a larger battery. However, what matters is the battery optimisation and how the entire handset uses it. Case in point are Apple iPhones themselves that have lesser battery than other Android phones but still end up giving more screen on time.
