Google Pixel 5, Pixel 4a 5G launch date leak reveals an even earlier arrival
Google hasn't confirmed the launch date for Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a yet. But the new Pixel phones could launch by the end of this month.
Google has already teased the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G smartphones with its launch expected soon. The exact date hasn't been revealed yet but a new leak reaffirms reports that the upcoming Pixel phones will launch by the end of this month.
According to a listing by Vodafone Germany, the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a are scheduled to launch on September 25. Both phones have been listed with the ‘Just Black' colour variant. The Pixel 4a comes in only this one colour but Google is expected to launch the others with more colour variants. While this would be the launch date for the Pixel phones in Germany, it may very well be the same for global too. A previous report suggested the new Pixel phones will launch on September 30.
Based on reports, Pixel 5 will come with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It will be available in two variants with 4G and 5G. The Pixel 5 with 5G will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, while the 4G variant will run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 730G SoC. It could feature a 6-inch OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Some reports suggest the Pixel 5 will pack a 3,080mAh battery while others say it will have a larger battery than the Pixel 4.
In terms of design, the Pixel 5 has been extensively leaked with a Pixel 4a-like design. There's even the presence of the rear fingerprint sensor hinting at no face unlock this time. Also, there will not be an ‘XL' version of the Pixel 5 this time. This has been pointed out time and again in multiple reports and leaks.
