While introducing the Pixel 4A, Google also unveiled the Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5, which won’t be coming to India but to US and other regions. The company even showcased the two devices’ sides with 5G mentioned in the background. However, no other details were revealed about the handsets. Now, a mysterious smartphone named Google Pixel 5s has surfaced on the web in the form of leaked images.

Images posted by a Mexican radio personality, @japonton, shows the smartphone sporting a similar design as the Pixel 5 (as seen in previously leaked images). You can see the square rear camera setup, fingerprint sensor at the back and the punch hole screen on the top left corner. One of the images even shows the name of the smartphone ‘5s’ in the ‘About Phone’ section under the Settings page. Also, shown is Android R, which we shouldn’t be excited about considering Android 11 has already started rolling out to the masses.

So, what might be the difference between the Pixel 5 and the Pixel 5s? There’s no confirmation yet but XDA Developer’s assumption is that the presence of mmWave 5G could a difference in these two. It might also be a completely different version. And Google could be doing this in order to spread its Pixel line up across various price segments.

Recently, a listing revealed the launch dates of Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G. According to a listing by Vodafone Germany, the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a are scheduled to launch on September 25. Both phones have been listed with the ‘Just Black’ colour variant. The Pixel 4a comes in only this one colour but Google is expected to launch the others with more colour variants. While this would be the launch date for the Pixel phones in Germany, it may very well be the same for global too. A previous report suggested the new Pixel phones will launch on September 30.
