Google Pixel 6a camera details leak too! And its surprising!

Google Pixel 6a leaks are coming in huge numbers! Just after the first CAD renders were leaked earlier this week, another leak now brings some information about its cameras. And, it is a surprising bit of information that this leak brings. The Pixel 6a may look like a Pixel 6 but not click photographs like the latter.

Unearthed by a report from 9To5Google, the Pixel 6a is apparently going to feature the same cameras as the Pixel 5a, which itself was not a drastic departure from the Pixel 4a. In fact, the leak mentions that the main camera on the Pixel 6a will feature the same 12.2MP Sony IMX363 sensor that we first saw on the Pixel 3.

Sitting alongside this 12.2MP main camera will be another Sony 12MP camera that is most likely to be used as an ultra-wide camera. The front camera will have a 8MP Sony IMX355, which is also present on the Pixel 6.

Hence, it seems that Google is not changing the camera hardware on the Pixel 6a, which could be crucial for maintaining a difference between the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6a.

However, there's good news on the performance front. The leak mentions that Google is not compromising on the performance this year and will bring the same Tensor chip that we saw on the bigger Pixel 6 models. That's should be a massive performance leap from the current Snapdragon 765G toting Pixel 5a.

The Tensor chip competes with the Snapdragon 888 and other high-end chips in the world of Android. The Pixel 6a getting this chip could make it an easy recommendation.

What remains to be seen is whether Google brings the Pixel 6a to India and other markets. The Pixel 4a was the last Google smartphone that India got; the company has not released any of the successive models here. Google, however, says that India will get to see Pixel devices in the future and we hope this future begins with the Pixel 6a.
