Here is how much OnePlus Nord may cost, and no it won't be ₹19,999

OnePlus has launched a special app on the Play Store and App Store to enable viewers experience the OnePlus Nord via augmented reality.

The OnePlus Nord is one of the most anticipated smartphone launches of the year. The phone will be launched via an online event at 7:30 PM IST today. The company has also launched a special app on Google's Play Store and Apple's App Store that will enable users to experience the launch of the company's next-generation flagship smartphone via augmented reality.

With the upcoming OnePlus Nord, which was earlier expected to be the OnePlus 8 Lite or the OnePlus Z, the company will be making a foray into the affordable smartphone product segment. The phone will initially be available in Europe and India only. The OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has already confirmed the OnePlus Nord will be priced under $500 ( ₹37,320 approximately) in the European market.

“Nord will be our first product below $500 in recent years...For OnePlus and the whole team, it's a massive challenge,” Lau said in the first episode of the documentary about the phone last month. This would make the phone significantly cheaper than the OnePlus 8 series that was launched at $699 ( ₹52,167 approximately) or ₹41,999 in India.

Interestingly, some users on Twitter believe the phone could cost ₹19,999. Users are sharing an image featuring an Amazon listing with ONleaks watermark. The listing, however, is fake.

On the other hand, a Romanian retailer, EvoMag has listed the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage space variant of the phone to be available for RON 2,232 ( ₹39,414 approximately). While the exact price of the OnePlus Nord will be revealed only at the time of launch in the event, it is not difficult to guess that the phone will be priced under 40,000 in India.

As far as other specifications are concerned, the OnePlus Nord will sport a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a dual front camera and it will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor that is coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage space. It is expected to come with a 4,115mAh battery.
