Honor 50 series will come with Google Mobile Services, Honor Germany confirms
Huawei last year sold its budget brand smartphone unit Honor to a consortium of over 30 agents and dealers.
Honor Germany has confirmed the upcoming Honor 50 series will come with Google Mobile Services. There is no word on whether the GMS on Honor 50 will be available in all markets.
It may be recalled that Huawei had sold the sub-brand Honor to a consortium of over 30 agents and dealers in a bid to keep it alive. The deal came after the US restrictions on supplying Huawei on grounds that the firm was a threat to national security. Huawei, however, has denied the charge. The restrictions barred Huawei from using Google's Google Mobile Services, though.
Ja, das können wir bestätigen. Aber pssst, soll noch eine Überraschung werden 😉

According to reports, Honor is said to be in talks with American companies to resume business like before. Some of the companies it is holding talks with are Qualcomm and Google. If deals come through, Honor may be able to sell phones globally with Qualcomm chips and Google's Android operating system.
That said, Honor 50 series is expected to launch very soon. According to reports, the series will feature Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro+. The top-end model is said to come with a 2K display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The phone will feature two selfie cameras. The setup will be a combination of 32-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors. On the back, it will have a 50-megapixel primary sensor, 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor, and one ToF sensor.
As far as the base model goes, Honor 50 is likely to come with a curved-edges design. It will have two large circular panels. According to leaked images, the top panel could house the primary camera, while the bottom could come with a periscope zoom lens. There is also a third camera sensor on the back.
