Samsung is all set to launch its next generation Galaxy Note 20 smartphone at the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event on August 5. Ahead of the official launch, the internet has been buzzing with reports about the upcoming Galaxy Note 20 series smartphones. Now, a new report talks about the international version of the Galaxy Note 20 5G smartphone.

To give you some context, the Galaxy Note 20 series will be available both in LTE and 5G variants to cater to the countries where 5G connectivity is not available yet. Now, a phone with model number SM-N981B has been spotted on the website of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). As per a report by Sam Mobile, which first spotted the listing, the model number in question is the international variant of the Galaxy Note 20 5G smartphone.

While the listing doesn't divulge too many details about the upcoming smartphone, it does reveal that the Galaxy Note 20 5G will measure 161 x 75.2mm, which would make it a tad bit wider than last year's Galaxy Note 10 smartphone. The listing doesn't reveal the thickness of the phone, however, previous reports indicate that the Galaxy Note 20 5G could be 8.5mm thick.

The listing also revealed that the upcoming phone would be backed by a Lithium polymer battery. The specifics, however, remain in the dark. Apart from this, the 5G variant of the Galaxy Note 20 smartphone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 990 chipset that is coupled with up to 12GB of RAM. The LTE variant, on the other hand, is expected to offer up to 8GB of RAM.

It is worth noting that the development comes shortly after the FCC gave its nod to the LTE-only variant of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphone. The LTE variant of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ chipset which comes with a built-in 5G modem, that is, the Snapdragon X55M. This functionality will, however, be disabled in the LTE variants.
