Apple, earlier this week, launched the iPhone 13 series consisting of four iPhone models, which includes the basic iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 series will hit the shelves on September 24. Now, even before the iPhone fans are able to get their hands on the iPhone 13, details about its successor series, that is, the iPhone 14 series has started to storm the internet.

GizChina quoting information from Apple's supply chain sources reported that in 2022, Apple will not release two but three iPhone 14 models with a 120Hz display. The publication said that at least one of the iPhone 14 series will come with the LTPS OLED display, which means that it will come with a 60Hz display, which at the moment is true for the vanilla iPhone 13 variants, that is, the iPhone 13 Mini and the iPhone 13. The publication also said that this iPhone model will be the cheapest in the iPhone 14 series. If this is true, the base variant of the iPhone 14 series, that is, the iPhone 14 Mini is expected to feature a 60Hz screen.

Further, sources also revealed that in 2022, Apple will launch three iPhone models in 2022 that will use the LTPO display, which would bring a 120Hz display to these iPhone 14 models. If this is true, the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max will be a step up from the iPhone 13 series that has iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max with a 120Hz ProMotion display. Additionally, the report suggests that LG will enter Apple's LTPO supply chain from next year, becoming the second supplier of these 120Hz displays for Apple. This year, Samsung is supplying the 120Hz display panels for the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max smartphones.

Notably, this is not the first time that a report has detailed the features that 2022's iPhone 14 series is expected to come with. Reports have hinted that Apple could drop iPhone 14 Mini next to opt for iPhone 14 Max instead. If that pans out, the iPhone 14 will come with the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Max and the iPhone 14 Pro Max models. While the iPhone 14 Pro Max is tipped to come with LTPO display, the other three iPhone 14 models are likely to come with flexible OLED displays. All four iPhone 14 models are expected to be powered by Apple's A16 chipset and feature a combination of FaceID and TouchID for enhanced security.
