Mi 11 series to debut in January 2021: Report

Xiaomi may unveil its new flagship series, Mi 11, in January next year. According to reports, the company will announce the phone at the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit. Xiaomi's Mi 11 series is likely to be one of the first set of phones to run on Qualcomm's 2021 flagship chip, Snapdragon 875.

The latest speculation around the Mi 11 launch date comes via tipster on Weibo. The tipster claims Xiaomi has sent the series for network certification, reports Gadgets360.

This is not the first time we've come across rumours around Xiaomi's next flagship series. The series is likely to feature at least two versions, Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro. The top-end model is said to come with a 2K display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The display will also house a punch-hole cutout on the front to house the selfie camera.

The base variant of Mi 11 is said to sport a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. The phone is also going to feature improved image stabilisation. One of the models in Mi 11 will sport a 108-megapixel camera.

Other expected features of Mi 11 include faster-charging capacity, 4,900mAh battery, and better display.

Separately, Xiaomi has launched an upgraded Redmi Note 9 series in China. The 5G enabled Redmi Note 9 series features Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 9 5G. There is also a 4G model of the Redmi Note 9. The 5G versions feature a punch-hole display and a circular camera module at the rear.
