Since there are many occasions when your inbox gets clogged, Google does not want to add to your problems of having to clean it up. Google said, as there are so many messages hitting your inbox all the time, "...it can be difficult to separate the important ones from everything else. To help you easily manage your messages, today we have two new updates to the Messages app to share." These changes will be applicable on Android and it will happen soon - "over the next few weeks", Google added. Google Messages update: OTP Also read click here. Google Messages can now automatically delete OTPs and other sign-in related messages after 24 hours, but the feature is optional. (Google Blog) ![image caption](https://images.hindustantimes.com/tech/img/2021/06/30/original/Google_Messages_2_1625034805397.png) Google Messages can now automatically delete OTPs and other sign-in related messages after 24 hours, but the feature is optional. (Google Blog) Google is all set to delete one-time passwords (OTPs) in your Google Messages inbox. Google says it will happen automatically. That this is a big problem is clear from the fact that fearing hackers, smartphone users are increasingly turning to safer methods and that includes getting OTPs even for various sign ins. Google Messages will delete these 6-digit codes within 24 hours as they are useless after a few minutes of being sent. Google Messages update: Categories However, the Google Messenger update is not limited to just that. It will also allow you to sort your messages into categories, allowing you to separate your personal messages from public notifications about special offers. This will happen through a machine learning process that can successfully tell the difference between personal messages, OTPs, offers and more. Google Messages automatic message categorisation can classify messages just like on Gmail. (Google Blog) ![image caption](https://images.hindustantimes.com/tech/static/revamp/images/png/ht-tech-bg-img-245-140.png) Google Messages automatic message categorisation can classify messages just like on Gmail. (Google Blog) Google said, "That means, bank transactions and bills will be filtered into the transactions tab, while conversations with saved numbers can be easily located in the personal tab. All of this happens safely on your device so your conversations stay in the app and you can access your categorized messages offline." Google Messages update: How to get it However, you will get access to these new features only after you update your Messages app to the latest version or download the app. Catch all the Latest Tech News, Mobile News, Laptop News, Gaming news, Wearables News , How To News, also keep up with us on Whatsapp channel,Twitter, Facebook, Google News, and Instagram.
