Oppo K9 5G is said to be the successor to the last year’s Oppo K7. Here’s what the latest handset offers.

Oppo on Thursday announced the launch of a new handset. Called Oppo K9 5G, the phone will be initially available in China. The handset comes in three variants with a starting price of 1,999 Yuan ( 22,700 approximately). It comes in Spades K and Wings of Symphony colour options.

Oppo K9 5G comes with a 6.43-inch display with a punch-hole cutout, AMOLED panel, full HD+ resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, 144Hz touch sampling rate, and 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone also comes with an in-screen fingerprint reader.

For performance, Oppo K9 5G runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 768 processor. The phone comes in 8GB of RAM (LPDDR4x) and up to 256GB of built-in storage. There is also a microSD card slot that supports expandable storage. On the software front, it runs on Android 11-based ColorOS 11.1.

It packs a 4,300mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. The company claims the phone can get fully charged in 35 minutes with the fast charger. Connectivity options on the phone are 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB Type-C support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

In the photography department, Oppo K9 5G comes with a 32-megapixel selfie camera. On the back, it houses a quad-camera setup that consists of a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor with a 119-degree field of view, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor.

According to Gizmochina, Oppo K9 5G is the successor to the K7 5G, which had launched last year.

Separately, Oppo has reduced the price of its A53 handset in India. The phone is currently available for 10,990, down from the original launch price of 12,990. Some of the top features of the phone are a 6.5-inch HD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor, 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5,000mAh battery.
