Poco M3 with 6,000mAh battery to launch in India tomorrow

Poco M3 will come with a 6,000mAh battery and 6GB of RAM. Here is what else you need to know about the new budget phone.

Poco is gearing up for the launch of a new handset in India tomorrow. Called Poco M3, the smartphone will be the first offering from the company this year. Already, Poco has revealed key features of the phone through official teasers. Now, the company has confirmed Poco M3 will come with a 6,000mAh battery.

Before this, Poco M3 was spotted on Flipkart. The listing on the e-commerce platform revealed the phone will have 6GB of RAM. Note that the global version of the phone is available in only 4GB RAM version. It's likely the company will also offer the 4GB version in India.

The global version of Poco M3 comes with a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with a 60Hz refresh rate. The phone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor. On the software front, it has Android 10-based MIUI 12 with Poco launcher on top. The global version also runs on a 6,000mAh battery that is coupled with 18W fast charging.

In the camera department, Poco M3's global version has a triple camera system on the back consisting of a 48MP primary shooter, a 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro lens. For selfies, there is an 8MP shooter on the front.

Connectivity options on the phone are 4G LTE, dual-band WI-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

The new handset will succeed the popular Poco M2. Launched in India in September last year, Poco M2 features a 6.53-inch FHD+ (2340x1080 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs on MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor.

The handset comes with a 13MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide sensor with 118-degree field of view, 5MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, it has an 8MP sensor at the front with Night Mode. There's also a 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging (10W charger inbox). The phone has P2i's nano-coating, which makes it resistant to accidental splashes.

Poco M2 is available in India for a starting price of ₹9,999. You can get the 128GB version of the phone for ₹10,999.
