Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 Plus chip may arrive next month
The new chip will bring incremental performance upgrade over the current Snapdragon 865 processor. Phones running SD 865+ SoC are likely to launch later this year.
Qualcomm's long-awaited Snapdragon 865+ processor is rumoured to launch next month. The upgraded version of Qualcomm flagship chip is set to power next wave of premium smartphones this year.
According to a Gizmochina (via Ice Universe), Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 Plus chip is scheduled to launch in July unless there is an “accident”. The leakster says the phones with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processors will arrive in the second half of this year.
Reports suggest Snapdragon 865+ processor will have a clock speed of 3.09GHz. This will be an incremental upgrade from Snapdragon 865's 2.8GHz. Other details about the Snapdragon 865+ processor aren't known yet but it's safe to predict it will bring better performance, improved camera capabilities, enhanced machine learning and more.
As said earlier, many smartphones are expected to launch with Qualcomm's upgraded Snapdragon 865 processor. The notable one is Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 20 series. The phone could also be the first to launch with Qualcomm's SD 865+.
Asus' ROG Phone 3 is also rumoured to come with the updated Snapdragon 865 Plus processor. iQoo's iQoo 3 Pro is expected to launch with the new chip as well.
