Samsung Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones launched in India, pricing starts at ₹26,499
On Wednesday, Samsung launched three new Galaxy A-series devices, the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G and the Galaxy A72, during its second virtually held Galaxy Unpacked event this year. The company has now launched the Galaxy A52 and the Galaxy A72 in India.
It looks like Samsung has decided to skip the 5G variant of the Galaxy A52 smartphone in the country, which makes sense at the moment, given how 5G networks are currently non-existent and having proper 5G connectivity is unlikely to happen until next year. Instead, Samsung has focused on bringing some flagship features to its Galaxy A-series devices this year.
We had previously reported that the South Korean smartphone manufacturer has brought four major upgrades to its A-series devices, the screen, the cameras, durability and the company’s larger Galaxy ecosystem. This year, the 64MP primary cameras on both the Galaxy A52 and the Galaxy A72 will support Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), while their Super AMOLED screens can go as bright as 800 nits and, support a refresh rate of 90Hz.
The company has included the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G on both the Galaxy A52 and the Galaxy A72 this year, a marked change from last year when the A52 ran an in-house Exynos processor while the A71 sported a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 under the hood. The devices are water-resistant and have an IP67 rating. The Galaxy A52 is powered by a 4500 mAh battery, while the Galaxy A72 has a 5000 mAh battery and supports up to 25W fast charging.
Samsung says these devices will also support its premium software features such as Knox Security, Samsung Pay, Alt Z, and Alive Intelligence. The company is selling these devices in four colour variants - Awesome Violet, Awesome Blue, Awesome Black, and Awesome White. Pricing for the Samsung Galaxy A52 starts at ₹26,499 for the 6GB+128GB variant, while the Galaxy A72 starts at ₹34,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant.
