Samsung Galaxy Note 20, here is what you need to know about the next flagship series

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series is going to bring a range of new features and upgrades. From a smarter S Pen to the latest Qualcomm chip, here are key things you can expect from the next flagship phones.

Galaxy Note 20 series is coming soon (Samsung)

In the less than three weeks, Samsung will showcase its new flagship smartphone series, Galaxy Note 20. The decade-old lineup is known for offering a large-screen experience, erstwhile known as phablets. It is also among very few smartphones to come with stylus support. Over the years, Samsung's Galaxy Note series has continued to get better and versatile.

On August 5, Samsung will showcase the next iteration of Galaxy Note phones. Just like the last year, Samsung will launch at least two phones under the Galaxy Note 20 lineup. This will include Galaxy Note 20 and a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

Design

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series will not look very different from the last year's Galaxy Note 10 series. The most noticeable change will be the back panel which will have a long and rectangular camera module, as seen in the Galaxy S20 and other recent Android smartphones. According to rumours, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will have a flatter display whereas Note 20 Ultra will have a curved display. The interface, however, is likely to be the same on the two phones. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series will have QHD+ displays with up to 120Hz refresh rate.

S Pen

The stylus has remained a marquee feature of the Galaxy Note series. Since the Note 10, S Pen has attained more attention with a slew of new features. According to reports, S Pen on Note 20 will be compatible with the last year's phones as well. The upgraded S Pen will also get a pointer feature. Similar to air gestures, you can point to the functionality of the phone and enter it. The functionality also appears to be very similar to the commonly used laser pointers.

Camera

Samsung is set to double down on the camera features with Note 20 series. The biggest upgrade, however, will be available on the premium Note 20 Ultra model. The phone is said to come with an upgraded 108-megapixel camera sensor. It will also have a 13-megapixel telephoto sensor and a 12-megapixel sensor.

Performance

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series will offer Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 865+ processor. It will also be available with Exynos 992 chipsets in select markets.

Qualcomm's new chipset brings up to 10% better performance than the Snapdragon 865 SoC. Bundled with X55 5G Modem-RF System, the chip brings 5G connectivity as well.

Other key features you can expect from Samsung Galaxy Note 20 are Wi-Fi 6, up to 16GB of RAM, in-display fingerprint sensor.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is said to come with at least 4,300mAh battery, a significant upgrade over the last year's 3,500mAh capacity. The Ultra model could come with up to 4,500mAh battery.
