Samsung's recently launched smartphone, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G has started receiving an update that improves its touchscreen stability. Besides this, users are also getting the January 2021 Android security patch. Although it is not for sure when this firmware update will be coming to India, according to a report by SamMobile, this has started rolling out in countries across Europe.

It is worth mentioning that this is the company's fourth firmware update that includes touchscreen stability improvements. As per the report, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G update brings the firmware version to G81BXXU1BUA5. The OS update weighs some 263MB.

The firmware rollout comes after some Galaxy S20 FE 5G users took it to forums to complain about the touchscreen stability issue a couple of months ago. As per some users, the smartphone registered ghost touches and stuttered while scrolling or zooming in the UI.

Some users speculated that this issue might not be software related, but rather hardware related and something that a mere update cannot solve. If you are a Galaxy S20 FE 5G user, you can check for firmware updates by navigating to Settings > System updates > Check for system updates > Download now > Install update.

The S20 FE launched in India in October last year at Rs 49,999. The smartphone comes in five colour options of Cloud Red, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy and Cloud White. Some key specs include 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, Exynos 990 chipset, 6GB/8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage, triple rear cameras including 12-megapixel primary sensor, 12-megapixel secondary sensor and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, 32-megapixel front camera and a 4500mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.
