Packing Snapdragon 888 chipset, this smartphone's launch just got postponed; suffers double whammy
This Samsung smartphone is going through a bad patch as its upcoming launch has been scrapped and pushed back. But that is not the only setback.
If you are a Samsung smartphones' fan and eagerly wait for their launch announcements, then know that this special one, will not appear in the country as scheduled. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE was earlier expected to arrive in August this year, but the ongoing global chip shortage has forced the company to postpone the launch to the final quarter of the year. Wait, there is more. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition or the Galaxy S21 FE was originally tipped to come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 SoC exclusively, but that might not be the case after all. A double whammy indeed.
Galaxy S21 FE: What will buyers get?
According to a report by SamMobile, Samsung may opt for its standard approach for launching its upcoming Galaxy S21 FE smartphone. The report says that the Snapdragon 888 variant of the Galaxy S21 FE will arrive in the US, Europe and other select markets around the globe. Elsewhere, Samsung will launch the phone with its own Exynos system-on-chip. It remains unclear which markets will get the Exynos version of the Galaxy S21 FE smartphone.
Notably, Samsung hasn't mentioned anything about the processor that it will use in its upcoming smartphone, but it is possible that the company opts for Exynos 2100 since it is quite close to the performance of the Snapdragon 888 SoC, which may come as a respite to a lot of customers.
