Samsung Unpacked event for March 17 announced, Galaxy A72 and A52 expected

Samsung's second Unpacked event for this year will take place next week where we'll most likely see Galaxy A phones.

Samsung on Wednesday announced a new ‘Unpacked' event scheduled for March 17. It's called the ‘Galaxy Awesome Unpacked' event which will most likely see the launch of Galaxy A72 and Galaxy A52 since the tagline ‘Awesome' is used for Galaxy A phones. These two phones have also been rumoured for quite some time, and tipped to launch this month.

The upcoming Samsung Unpacked event is scheduled to take place on March 17 at 10 am ET which will be 8:30 pm IST for viewers in India. The event will be streamed on Samsung Newsroom and Samsung's YouTube channel. The launch announcement comes shortly after it was leaked that Samsung is hosting an Unpacked event on March 17. It's still not revealing though which phones to expect at the launch.

According to leaks and rumours, Galaxy A72 is expected to come with flagship features such as 3X optical zoom and 30X space zoom on its quad-camera setup. The combination will include a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 20-megapixel ultra wide camera, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. Galaxy A72 is also said to feature new Snapchat lenses that will be embedded directly into the camera app.

Leaks also suggest it will feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and it will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 720G processor. The smartphone could be offered in two variants of 6GB RAM + 128GB and 8GB RAM+256GB. More expected specs include a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, and a 32-megapixel front camera.

As for the Galaxy A52, its 5G variant is expected to feature a Super AMOLED display as well, with a 90Hz refresh rate. It could launch in two RAM and storage variants of 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. Galaxy A52 is also expected to feature a 32-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter and run Android 11 and One UI 3.0 out of the box. Meanwhile, the 4G variant of the phone could come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor and sport the same camera configuration as the 5G variant of the device, according to reports.
