These Oppo phones will get Android 11-based ColorOS 11 update
The roadmap includes phones such as Find X2, Reno series, and F-series.
Oppo on Monday announced that Android 11-based ColorOS 11 is rolling out to more users in India.
According to the company, Oppo A53, A5 2020, and A9 2020 are already receiving the ColorOS 11 public beta update. Oppo F17 users will receive the update from May 25 onwards.
Oppo added that users of Find X2, F17 Pro, Reno4 Pro, Reno3 Pro, Reno10x Zoom, Reno2 F, Reno2 Z, Reno2, A52, F11, F11 Pro, F11 Pro Marvels Avengers Limited Edition, A9, and F15 had begun receiving the official version of ColorOS 11. Starting May 26, Oppo A5 2020 and A9 2020 users will also start receiving the official updates. The company noted that the 3GB models of the two phones would not receive the latest update due to low RAM capacity.
“Cumulatively, the update will include more and more models, including the Find, Reno, F and A series – letting more users enjoy ColorOS' highly customizable UI and newest features, including the much-awaited UI Customization, Three-Finger Translate, FlexDrop, Private System and many more,” the company said in a release.
That said, Oppo appears to be stepping up its software update game. Of late, the likes of Samsung have also improved their record of rolling out the latest updates and patches. Timely updates had been a big pain point for Android users for a long time. Unlike Apple's iOS ecosystem, Android is quite fragmented, resulting in an inconsistent user experience.
Last week, Oppo released ColorOS Developer Preview based on Android 12 for Find X3 Pro users. The company said it was one of the first handset makers to launch an Android 12 Developer Preview Program at the Google I/O Developer Conference 2021. Apart from Oppo, firms like Asus, Xiaomi, Realme, Tecno, and TCL will also offer beta versions.
