Airtel on Monday announced a new plan for its postpaid and V-Fiber broadband services under which it will be offering free subscription of Netflix for three months. After the free subscription expires, Airtel postpaid and V-Fiber broadband customers can pay for Netflix through postpaid or broadband bill as well.

Note that the scheme is available for both new and existing Airtel postpaid and V-Fiber broadband customers. Customers can activate the free Netflix scheme through the Airtel TV app and the My Airtel app. Under the partnership, Airtel has created a dedicated row on the Airtel app for Netflix.

"The expanded partnership further strengthens Airtel's vast digital content portfolio on Airtel TV, which already offers over 10,000 plus movie and shows plus 375 plus LIVE TV channels. Airtel TV is growing fast on the back of booming demand for content on smartphones," the company added.

Airtel earlier this year announced partnership with Amazon for providing free Amazon Prime Video subscription to its select subscribers. Airtel offers free Prime Video services with its monthly rental plans starting at 499.

Vodafone also offers free Netflix subscription through its Red postpaid plans ( 999 and above).

Airtel's new Netflix scheme comes days after Reliance Jio started accepting registrations for its JioGigaFiber services. Reliance Jio is also expected to bundle OTT services with its broadband plans. The operator already has been running a preview offer under which it gives up to 100Mbps for 90 days along with a monthly data quota of 100 GB.
