Apple today hosted its ‘Hi, Speed' event wherein the company introduced its next-generation smartphone series, that is, the iPhone 12 series smartphones. The iPhone 12 series smartphones, as numerous reports had detailed in the past, consists of four iPhone 12 models.

The list includes the vanilla iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Mini and the Pro models, which includes the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. All of the four iPhone 12 models come with an OLED display (yes, Apple finally made the switch!) with a ceramic glass coating on top. In addition to that, all the four iPhone 12 models come with 5G connectivity and are powered by the company's A14 Bionic chipset. Apple said that it has partnered with Verizon to bring its 5G-enabled iPhones to the US.

In addition to 5G connectivity, Apple has also introduced wireless charging capabilities to its iPhone 12 series smartphones. The iPhone 12 series smartphones come with MagSafe technology which enables users to charge them wirelessly using MagSafe's wireless charger. Users can also charge the Apple Watch Series 6 and the iPhone 12 using the same MagSafe wireless charger.

In terms of the camera capabilities, the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Mini come with a dual rear camera setup, while the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max come with a triple-rear camera setup with LiDAR sensors. Apple says that it has not only improved the cameras but also the computational algorithm backing its cameras in the iPhone 12 series. The company says that the iPhone 12 series not only has the company's night mode at the back but also in the front. This means that users can click images using the night using both the phones' front and rear cameras.

Apart from launching the iPhone 12 series smartphones, Apple also launched the HomePod Mini, which is the company's second generation smart speaker. It comes with an intercom feature that enables users to connect two HomePod Mini smart speakers. It also enables users to connect a HomePod Mini with an iPhone, an Apple Watch and even the Apple AirPods.

-- The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB memory variants in Blue, Green, Black, White, and PRODUCT(RED) colour variants at a starting price of ₹79,900 and ₹69,900 respectively.

-- The iPhone 12 will be up for pre-orders starting October 16 and it will go on sale starting October 23.

-- The iPhone 12 Mini will be available for pre-order beginning November 6 and it will be up for sale starting November 13.

-- The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB models in Graphite, Silver, Gold, and Pacific Blue colour variants at a starting price of ₹119,900 and ₹129,900 respectively.

-- The MagSafe Charger, Leather Wallet with MagSafe, and iPhone 12 Silicone Case and Clear Case will be available starting October 16, while the iPhone 12 Leather Case will be available starting November 6.
